Internship Position

Position Overview: In this position, you will work directly with JFK IAT’s General Counsel on projects of importance to the company. Subject matter areas may include aviation, employment, real estate, insurance and torts, and general contract management. The General Counsel will assign and review your work and will provide frequent guidance and feedback. In addition, you will meet and work with colleagues throughout the company as you gather information and input relevant to your project work.

$22.00 Per Hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work on a project-by-project basis to support the company’s legal function, which may include:
    • Review, draft, negotiate, and track contracts
    • Review and interpret standard contractual provisions relating to insurance, indemnification, and other matters
    • Monitor and track compliance with insurance requirements and other contractual obligations
    • Coordinate and manage information requests from litigation counsel, including document
    • Evaluate and assist in the selection of Document Management Systems (DMS) and Contract Management Systems (CMS) as part of RFP and vendor-selection processes
    • Review, update, and maintain company policies, procedures, and governance documents.
    • Develop and oversee records management practices
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, and Experience
  • College sophomore, junior or senior, or (preferred) currently enrolled in law school
  • Experience with office work preferred
  • An interest in the subject matter areas described
Special Requirements
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances required to work at an airport.
  • Requires working 20-28 hours per week
